Welocme to the first episode, the pilot if you like, of The Echoes in the Black podcast.

This solo roleplaying podcast where darkness presses in, torches gutter low, and the dice decide what survives the night.

This is not a scripted drama.

This is not a novel with dice as window dressing.

This is a real solo RPG campaign, played openly and honestly, where mechanics, random tables, and oracle questions actively shape the story.

I’ll be using Shadowdark RPG with one or two light house rules, and I’ll be running it solo using the SoloDark rules, with a few elements borrowed from the Mythic Game Master Emulator for open-ended questions, twists, and unexpected turns.

Sometimes the dice will give me exactly what I hoped for.

Sometimes they will ruin my plans completely.

    The dice will whisper fate

Thanks to those who have trodden this path before me, including Me Myself and Die, Tale of the Manticore, Legend of the Bones and Legends of the Fireside.

But most of all, thank you to Kelsey Dionne, and the Arcane Library, for allowing an old man to feel 13 again and letting me tell some odd stories inside the best RPG ever.
