Florida’s laws have been updated in 2020 and came into effect in July 2020 only with some do and don’t to restrict the discrimination against the person with disabilities. Florida has adopted the Federal Fair Housing Act (FHA) which allows a person with a disability to live with an Emotional Support Animal in any rental accommodation. This act was passed to stop the discrimination against the person with the disability and provide them with a reasonable accommodation devoid of any no-pet policies. The landlord must approve the request and must not ask for detailed medical statements.
