13 Agosto 2007, Garlasco, Italia. In una normalissima mattinata estiva, la famiglia Poggi si tinge di rosso. Viene trovata senza vita la figlia 26enne Chiara, a seguito di percosse inflitte da un oggetto metallico. A dare l'allarme è il fidanzato Alberto Stasi, divenuto il sospettato numero uno a seguito di una serie di fattori incerti e sinistri come il paio di scarpe che indossava. Tra testimoni, bizzarre teorie sataniche e le cugine della ragazza che sembravano conoscere qualcosa, la vicenda si chiude con l'arresto di Stasi. Dopo ben 10 anni di carcere però emergono nuove prove, che potrebbe addirittura far scarcerare l'ex fidanzato. Ricercati approfitta del momento per riportare in piedi un delitto che sembrava sepolto da tempo.
