松島で、お米を使った「紅蓮」というお菓子を頂いて来ました。炭火で焼くとグネグネと生き物のように動いて、表と裏をひっくり返すとちょっと焦げ目がついて、いい香りがします。まさに手間ひまをかけて作られているからこそ味わい深いお菓子なんですが、実はこの「紅蓮」は鎌倉時代の尼さんの名前から付けられています。そこにはどんな物語があるのでしょうか？
