塩はなくてはならないものです。盛り塩にして「結界」を作ったりするだけでなく、病にかかっている人に塩を見せて（見せ塩）、耳元で米を振る音を聞かせる（振り米）と、病魔が退散するとも信じられていました。塩釜にある「鹽竈神社」に祀られている塩土老翁神（しおつちおじのかみ）は、人々に塩の作り方を教えたといわれています。日本各地、そして世界各地においしい塩がたくさんあります。料理によって塩を変えてみると味も気分も変わります。それだけでなく気分が優れないとき、自分自身に塩をふりかけてみると、気分が一掃されるかもしれません。
