兵庫県豊岡市・出石の地で出会ったのは、驚くほど甘く、噛むほど旨みが深まる“生食できるピーマン”。苦味のイメージを覆すその味わいは、育てた人の技と土地の力によって実現した、まっすぐで豊かな野菜本来の味です。そして町を見上げると目に入るのが、長崎から運ばれた日本で二番目に古い時計台「辰鼓楼」。さらに町を歩けば至るところに掲げられている「◯に無」の旗印。“自分を無にして仕える”という覚悟から生まれたこの文字は、今もなお、出石の精神性を物語る象徴的な言葉です。ピーマンの「無」に何を詰めるか・・・それは自由で無限です！
