About this listen

Emily Rogers has been on a fast track in Artistic Swimming from the moment she first hopped in the pool. Within two years she had already represented Australia at an Olympics and a World Championships.

The sport has taken her all around the world and is set to bring her to a second Olympic Games in Tokyo.

In this chat, Emily talks about the ins and outs of artistic swimming. From the training involved to the skills that go into staying underwater and holding your breath for minutes. It’s a fantastic insight into a sport not many people appreciate how much effort goes into.

She also talks through the small lifespan in artistic swimming and that even though she’s only 23, Tokyo could be her retirement swan song.
