With Dyslexia Awareness month now in full swing this weeks podcast episode I dig deep into the purpose and reasons behind me doing what I do.

How society views, perceives and understands dyslexia hugely shapes how successful a person can be. This is the biggest issue when it comes to dyslexia and it remains so misunderstood. This dyslexia awareness month I intend to do all I can to show up and help people

  • S3 Ep 15 - First Full Week Back: Parenting While Neurodivergent, “Over-Delivery,” & Uni Goodbyes
    Sep 12 2025

    Send us a text

This week, I’m talking about the first full week of term—the one where clubs start, routines get real, and tiredness hits. Inside:

    • Rebel Up mentoring — powerful breakthroughs as we start with “love your dyslexic brain” and unpick how your brain works.
    • The POD (Parents of Dyslexics) — September pop-up is buzzing: weekend meltdowns, why they happen, and proactive supports that help. Join here: POD – Parents of Dyslexics (sign-up)

    • CPD & practising certificate — head down, training done; socials a bit quieter because… bandwidth is real.
    • Uni send-off — the invisible mental load we carry for our kids (and the space that returns once a big milestone passes).
    • Masking at home — how strong family structures can hide genuine needs at school, and why proactive systems beat firefighting.
    • Parenting theme for the year — keynotes on raising successful dyslexics and protecting mental health/anxiety:
      • 18 Sept 2025 — 2nd Twickenham Dyslexia Conference, The Exchange, Twickenham. Tickets/info: Positive Dyslexia conference page
        or Eventbrite listing

      • 27 Sept 2025 — Bell House Dyslexia Fair 2025, Dulwich. Details: Bell House event page
        or Eventbrite

    • The “over-delivery” debate — after my GCSE post picked up traction, I unpack what I mean: when effort ≠ attainment, compensatory strategies, and working with (not against) a dyslexic/ADHD brain. Chime in with your view!
    • Book progress — back into a writing rhythm on navigating the education system; aiming to pitch to a publisher.

  • S3 Ep14 -Back-to-School, Year 11 Pressure, & Thriving in the Chaos
    Sep 5 2025

This week, I tried something new: recording the podcast on video and streaming at the same time. Why? Because the messy, real-time reality of dyslexia + ADHD is worth normalising.

    Inside the episode:

    • Back-to-school the “last-minute” way — why doing it in the final week actually reduces stress for dyslexic/ADHD brains, and how my pop-up parent community The POD (Parents of Dyslexics) followed along with checklists and lives.
    • Year 11 & GCSE pressure — my daughter’s “clicker” experiment (41 GCSE mentions in one day!) and a practical exercise to set your own happy-heart grades + a three-column priorities list.
    • When routines slip — I mix up times, miss calls, and then… self-talk, compassion, and putting strategies back in place.
    • Coaching, ducks, and clarity — why my ducks aren’t in a row (but I know where they are), and how mentoring helps me decide what truly matters this week.
    • Running a business while parenting neurodivergent teens — the “hattrick” of interruptions and knowing when to pause and try again in a better window.
    • Conferences & CPD — Isle of Wight conference prep, speaking in London (mid/late September), and renewing my Dyslexia Practising Certificate without the overwhelm.

If you’re navigating school transitions, GCSE season, or simply trying to keep your ducks (chaotic as they are) swimming in the same pond — this one’s for you.

  • s3 e11 - Modelling resilience, organisation and self talk!
    Jul 31 2025

    Send us a text

In this episode, I discuss how as parents we have to model resilience to our children. How we need systems in place to support our working memory and also keep things tidy, and finally how many people with dyslexia emotionally harm themselves by the way the speak to themselves in their heads!
