About this listen

Dries Van Noten really needs no introduction. As a member of the legendary Antwerp Six, he helped to put Belgian fashion on the global fashion agenda in the eighties. Today, Dries Van Noten is still one of the most important designers worldwide. In this first episode of the Flanders DC Talks podcast, we go back to 2017, a tipping point for Dries: he was turning 60, had 100 fashion shows behind him and was looking back on his career with a documentary, and a book. At our Fashion Talks conference in Antwerp in November 2017, Dries sat down with Vanessa Friedman, the fashion director from The New York Times. Listen here to the fascinating conversation between Dries Van Noten and Vanessa Friedman.
