About this listen
What if it's about the battle for one woman's soul?
Join Michael Bolton and Mark Stratton as they watch Dredd (with much pausing for discussion).
Reasons why Dredd is a feminist film (and why it's a GOOD one):
1) Dredd never takes control. Every step is Anderson's decision whether Dredd thinks she's right or not.
2) She rescues herself twice and rescues Dredd as well.
3) Mama and Dredd are shadows Anderson could become should she embrace an ideology - which she does not do.
4) Anderson does not revel in killing/destruction and takes the path of compassion when appropriate.
Production Note
My apologies for the background hum. It was an an electric fireplace that basically sent its motor-hum straight up the microphone stand. I tried to noise-reduce it, but that dropped all the bottom-end out of the recording and made it sound hollow.
