Every day you are compelled to look at this constantly altered image of self. Daily, with each act of hatred, lust, envy, and greed; the portrait warps. Each day it becomes more hideous and grotesque. Yet, when you leave home, you easily forget how terrible the image and only see the young, attractive, and vital self you desire.
The book Picture of Dorian Gray written by Oscar Wilde published in 1891, was a philosophical journey into living a hedonistic lifestyle of physical indulgence without regard to effect or consequence.
