Hot off a win for Best Short Story Collection/Anthology from The Mystery Writers of America at last year's Killer Nashville Awards, purveyor of dread and scribe of middling import, Patrick Quinn Kitson, is a writer on a mission. That mission: to bring humorous, home-brewed, Colorado-set horror to the masses whether they want it or not. Coining the phrase, "Valley Horror" in reference to his own specific brand of Rocky Mountain creature features, he is also one half of the duo who produce "Transmissions From The Campfire", Colorado's pre-eminent short story podcast.

    Send us a text

Jonny Ward is a geek and nerd in love with all things fandom. From anime to comics to pro-wrestling, horror holds a particular special place in his heart.

Synopsis of book: Walter finds a ventriloquist dummy. A childhood dream come true.

But things begin to shift. Time slips, shadows move, and the line between old trauma and outside influence thins. The dummy sits still through it all.

    Watching. Smiling.

What follows is a spiral into ancient horror, obsession, and fractured faith, as Walter uncovers The Dummy's purpose. Whatever lives behind that painted grin has plans for him, and they reach far beyond one broken mind.
