On a very heated episode of "Diversify," Jerney, Gaku, and Ahmed kick off with a very
intense discussion on racism: the history and present realities. The discussion shall prove how
far back, indeed, some of these events go, such as slavery, etc. and how they manage to
maintain themselves into contemporary life. Media is then considered as a perpetuator, as is
the potential role for education to cancel ignorance. The systemic unpacking of racism by the
hosts hereof, within a myriad of approaches, even to the personal experiences of the hosts and
what is happening globally with a need for cross-cultural understanding and dialogue, is then
brought into perspective. On the face of it, therefore, the podcast is aimed at bringing to light
the complicated and long-lasting effects of racism.
