About this listen

Welcome to Dive In: A Podcast on Being Human. My name is Ashley Shockley Phillips and I am your host.

Being human. A challenging gift of time on this planet. What we do with it is ours to decide. We can let our lives get away from us; or we can choose to be curious, to grow and to connect. I believe that the latter can help us to create life that is authentically ours. Let's explore.

Parenting is tough. It is equally tough to reflect on yourself as a parent once you have accumulated the wisdom that (we hope) comes with age. This episode is about deliberate growth; It's about moving beyond childhood trauma; and most importantly, it's about identifying and changing familial cycles. I truly believe that in order to live our best lives, we need to actually THINK about our lives. We need to step outside of the hamster wheel that we sometimes find ourselves on and examine our lives, the reasons for our behaviors and how we treat, not just our children, but everyone.

This episode is not perfect, but I'm learning. I'm stretching myself and that feels good. If one thing rings true for you, inspires you or plants a seed for growth in any area of your life, I would love to hear about it. Please reach out.

    Take care of yourselves. A

In this short episode, I start to unpack my why I have started this creative journey, who I am at this point in my life and the REASON (there is always a reason) for choosing this avenue for dialogue. I hope you will join me as I explore what it means to be authentically human, how we can make the best of it and make others lives better in process.
