In Acts 3:25 God’s people are called “children of the prophets and of the covenant.” Those two primary influences brought to birth the nation of Israel in the Old Testament period, as well as the Church in the New Covenant era. Jesus is called a Prophet and He lives within all born again believers. So, a prophetic nature and calling is part of our spiritual DNA. No wonder Paul said, “You may all prophesy.” This teaching may give you a whole new appreciation of the relevance of your position in the Kingdom.

The Bible declares that “mercy triumphs over judgment” (James 2:13). Our heavenly Father creates new expressions of mercy every morning. Receiving His mercy is the key to triumphant living. Giving it away to others is one of the most blessed and godlike things we can do. Believers are not only named “vessels of mercy” (recipients of the Savior's tender compassion); we are also called to be “the merciful” (extending His mercy to others). What a high calling this is!
