Im Sommer 1983 wagen drei Männer das Unmögliche. Sie brechen auf, um zu Fuß die Eiswüste Grönlands zu überqueren. Drei Monate werden sie für die mehr als 1000 Kilometer lange Strecke brauchen. Die Südtiroler Robert Peroni, Pepi Schrott und Wolfgang Thomaseth sind von der Außenwelt abgeschnitten, es gibt keinen Funkverkehr und im Falle einer Panne oder eines Unfalls keine Rettungsmöglichkeiten.
