    Edwina Currie is a broadcaster, writer, and former politician. Once one of the biggest names in British politics, Currie served as the Conservative MP for South Derbyshire from 1983 until 1997. During this time, she also served as a health minister under Margaret Thatcher, famously resigning after the salmonella-in-eggs controversy.

    After leaving politics, Currie became a successful novelist and television personality, featuring on shows such as I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! and Strictly Come Dancing.

Most notably, he uncovered the phone hacking scandal in Rupert Murdoch's media empire, initiated the alliance of news organisations that published US war logs and cables obtained by WikiLeaks, and was part of the team that handled the British end of Edward Snowden's leaks about the US National Security Agency.


    Davies will also be played by David Tennant in an upcoming series about the phone hacking scandal, called The Hack.
