Paula K. Brown is President and Co-founder of PEB Ministry,a non-profit 501(c)(3) public benefit corporation in California. She started her work with the CAHSEE (California High School Exit Exam) program in the city of Richmond, CA through her church’s Young Scholarship Program. After running a six-week comprehensive pilot program, where one hundred percent of the students who attended passed the CAHSEE, she was offered work in Oakland.
Mrs. Brown has served youth all over the United States. Sheis an educator and administrator by profession. While living and working in the Washington Metropolitan area as the Executive Assistant to the Director at the National Academy of Sciences, she helped launch an experimental private Christian school called Canwyck Pines Academy is located in Fredericksburg, VA. Under her leadership, a new building was constructed that housed the classrooms and adormitory. In addition, the scholastic achievements of the students who attended were notable.
Mrs. Brown has been a classroom teacher in other areas ofthe country. She was an English instructional specialist and eighth-grade teacher at F.H. Jenkins, a private Christian school in Nashville, Tennessee. She also served as a multi-curriculum, multi-grade teacher at the Fredericksburg,VA Junior Academy.
In the State of California, Ms. Brown served as theprincipal for Golden Gate Academy (GGA), a K-12 Christian school in the inner City of Oakland. The students who attended and graduated from GGA during Mrs. Brown’s tenure had a ninety-five (95) percent college or university attendance rate.
She is a published author in a Women’s Devotional bookwritten by African American Women. She has traveled to several countries, Thailand, Turkey, Greece, and the Philippines, as a missionary volunteer.
Paula Brown is a certified Cognitive Spiritual Therapist(CST) Facilitator. She recently received a Certification as a Life Purpose Coach. She has served as a certified BTSA/New Beginning Teacher coach for Oakland Unified, West Contra Costa, North Bay, and Solano County school districts.
Mrs. Brown has conducted many Family Life Seminars and facilitated Mentor Training of ministerial spouses for the Northern California Conference, North American Division and The Mountain View Conference in Ghana, Africa. Sheis the author of “A Guide for Pastors’ Spouses- Mentoring and Peer Support for Pastoral Spouses.” Mrs. Brown developedand conducted tutoring programs for the Beacon Light Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church in Richmond, CA, and for the Valley Community SDA Church in Stockton, CA. She has also created an “Efficient Classroom Protocol” for anorganization called Super Achievement, Inc. The protocol outlines what it takes to run an efficient, organized, well-managed classroom.
Paula Brown is passionate about helping individuals makepositive changes in their lives. She is fondly called Sister Pastah and rightly so. In her own right, she can break down the principles and truths of God’s Word in such a way that people (adults and children) are drawn to Christ. Mrs. Brownattributes her accomplishments and successes to the wisdom and efficacy of the Holy Spirit and God’s grace.
She is married to Pastor Edwin F. Brown, Senior Pastor ofthe Market Street SDA Church in Oakland, California. She has four children, thirteen grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
