Camino por los “caruggi”, los característicos y estrechos callejones sombríos de Génova, uno de los antiguos principales puertos de salida rumbo a las Américas para millones de emigrados. Me imagino subir a un vapor transatlántico en 1909 y después de casi dos semanas de navegación, desembarcar en Buenos Aires. Visito lo que queda de ambos puertos, convertidos en gran medida en un parque de diversión para turistas, buscando las historias de algunas familias emigrantes del siglo pasado. Llego al Hotel de Inmigrantes, activo hasta 1953, desde hace diez años convertido en sede del Museo de la Inmigración.
