Lexis is a lawyer with the 1776 Law Center, a non-profit started by law-tuber @robertbarnes5175 that primarily concerns itself with constitutional law and defending the constitutional rights of ordinary Americans. • Dangerous Rhetoric 125: Kayla Dones, Christian Hartsock, & Matthew Tyrmand
    Nov 23 2024

Returning to the Project Veritas/James O'Keefe beat, we had former OMG investigative journalist Kayla Dones on the show. Kayla was the brains behind "A Line in the Sand," now being promoted as "James O'Keefe's new documentary." Kayla describes how she scouted locations, interviewed subjects, organized shoots, and coordinated filming only to be discarded upon completion of the project with. Upon asking to stand with the team at the premiere, James asked her why she was so "obsessed with the spotlight," a bit of projection on his part.

We we're also joined by Matthew Tyrmand, former guest/PV board member, and Christian Hartsock, also a former guest and PV journalist. The boys highlighted that Kayla's story is not-unique, and we discussed psychopathy/sociopathy as a possible explanation for JOK3's behavior.

This is the first episode featuring my new cohost, JL. JL is a father, veteran, and pet-rescuer.

Pardon the mic issues. They'll be fixed in future episodes.

  • Dangerous Rhetoric 124: Daniel R. Strack, Matthew Tyrmand, & Christian Hartsock
    Jun 4 2024

Continuing on the same beat from our last episode about the fall of Project Veritas, we spoke with Daniel Robert Strack, the former Executive Director of the investigative journalism organization; Matthew Tyrmand, a former member of its Board of Directors; and former Project Veritas journalist Christian Hartsock. After obtaining some background of who each of these men are and how they became involved, we allowed them to air their grievances regarding what transpired last year.

We stayed on this beat because many in the right-wing realm of political and social commentary (of which we intersect) don’t seem interested in hearing any other side to the story besides what Project Veritas founder, James O'Keefe, claims happened last year when he parted ways with the organization. Since we’ve received some backlash for covering this angle and talking to people who tell a different tale than the popular narrative pushed by all of the big name conservative “influencers,” we wanted to speak about this even more and to have conversations on the record with others involved with the story.

O’Keefe and the media ignored our previous conversation with former senior creative producer of Project Veritas, Kalen Eriksson, whose testimony we felt was a powerful and balanced account of what occurred. After that was released, O’Keefe insinuated that anyone criticizing him (concurrently with former FBI agent and whistleblower Kyle Seraphin) must be part of a “sophisticated information operation” against him, directing his followers to “take note” of everyone doing so.

    Well, take note of this.
