 Proverbs 11:24–25 (NLT) - Give freely and become more wealthy; be stingy and lose everything. The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed. The past years have been hard, and in hard seasons there is a temptation to hold on too tightly. Some people became more generous. Others became cautious to the point of stinginess. Scripture speaks clearly to both. God gives four direct promises here. Give freely, and increase follows. Become stingy, and loss follows. The generous prosper. Those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed. These are not suggestions. They are promises. Many start life generous when they have little, but as blessing grows, so do expenses. When generosity disappears, pressure increases, and loss follows. God’s order has not changed. If you refresh others, God will make sure someone refreshes you.
