About this listen
In this Daily Devotion with Pastor Balla for March 21, 2026, we reflect on Psalm 51:16–17 (ESV), “For You Will Not Delight in Sacrifice.” These verses teach an important truth about repentance and true worship before God. King David recognizes that religious rituals alone cannot repair the damage of sin. God does not desire empty outward performance but a heart that is humble before Him.
Psalm 51 reminds us that the sacrifices of God are “a broken spirit” and “a broken and contrite heart.” True repentance means honestly confessing sin and relying entirely on the mercy of the Lord. The good news is that God does not despise the sinner who comes in humility. Instead, He welcomes the repentant and grants forgiveness.
This devotion also points forward to Jesus Christ, the true and perfect sacrifice offered for the forgiveness of sins. Because of Christ’s work on the cross, the repentant sinner receives mercy, cleansing, and restoration.
If you are searching for a daily Bible devotion, Psalm 51 Bible study, Christian repentance teaching, or Christ-centered encouragement, this message will strengthen your faith.
