About this listen

A podcast that dives into the world of play, story and technology - exploring the ways we craft experiences that shape how we see the world.

This month, we chat with Laura Cotton, who joined World Productions in April 2020 as Head of Development for the Welsh office, where she fosters a slate of exciting, ambitious drama that will primarily be set and shot in Wales.

Recently, she has worked closely with writer Helen Walsh, executive producing The Gathering, a character-led whodunnit for Channel 4.

Laura’s career also spans everything from script editing the award-winning Being Human to nurturing new voices in drama through Channel 4’s Coming Up and 4Stories.

In this episode, we talk about Laura’s journey from floor runner to Head of Development, how TV drama is made behind the scenes, and the craft of telling stories that feel authentic, ambitious, and rooted in place.
