  • We're Older Than Mr. Roper?? HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE??
    Mar 21 2026

We FINALLY got some Listener Mail - a voice memo from our Mexican candy-pusher, Krickett! We get some good background about the candy choices and Ruben gets called out on his B.S. about not liking the candy!

As Tolstoy said in Anna Karenina, "All happy families are alike; each unhappy family is unhappy in its own way." We peel back the layers on our weird families and expose some of the quirky sayings and traditions that make us laugh (and roll our eyes). And now you can put this podcast into your Classy Entertainment folder because we're quoting Tolstoy. You're welcome.

Every day we're faced with signs we're growing older. We could be the fathers of NBA players (and probably even some coaches). We had to choose from LEADED or UNLEADED gas at the pump when we started driving. And we're now older than Norman freaking Fell was when he played Mr. Roper. How the actual F__CK did that happen? Did all those "old" guys on TV when we were kids just look bad for their age...or do we just look REALLY good? We expect to get lots of Listener Mail on that one.

We dive back into a Connect More Classic for the whiparound: band names that aren't real but should be! Email us a voice memo with your favorite fictional band name, and if we play it on the pod we'll send you an exclusive Connect More mug: cnxmorepod@gmail.com

  • SHORTIE! I Look Forward to Your Response: How do you sign off on your emails??
    Mar 14 2026

FYSA: We deal with a LOT of emails every day, so when our producer asked us how we sign off on emails we had a very, very lively discussion. We've got a lot of email pet peeves and you'll hear about all of them. Thank you for your attention to this matter. This is a quick episode. You'll be finished before you figure out if you should sign off with "Best" or "Sincerely yours"!

  • When Pong Was King: Gaming in a simpler time
    Mar 7 2026

Spring is right around the corner, and the boys are dreaming about their next adventures, including a bit of travel, odd jobs around the house, and getting packed up for a big move.

Grab your joysticks because we're dusting off our old hand-held video games and vintage gaming consoles to figure out if they're still fun or not. From the old Mattel football games to the Commodore 64 and Pong, we spent a lot of time as kids watching VERY low-res dots bounce around. What was your favorite vintage video game?

Where, oh where, are you tonight?? If you can sing the next few sentences with the lines from that Hee Haw song, then you are our type of people. If Hee Haw was still a 'thing' nowadays, who would be hosting the show? Any current country stars willing to get a raspberry in the face and "THHHP" you were gone??

In general we're a pretty positive bunch, but every now and then we encounter some disappointment in our lives. We whiparound with some things that have recently let us down. Don't worry - there are still quite a few good laughs in there!
