Linda Weldy, 10, should have been safe walking the short distance from her school bus to her home in LaPorte, Indiana on February 24th, 1987. Witnesses saw her check the mailbox and head down the dirt driveway but she never made it home. Three weeks later, her body was discovered in a remote field miles away. Decades later, her murder remains unsolved, leaving her family still searching for answers about what happened during those final moments between the bus stop and home.
