It’s episode 20, can you believe it? We kick off with Linda in full judgemental flow, commenting on the fashion crimes of warm-weather Britain. Then she shares her trials with flat-pack furniture from Temu (no Allen key? No chance!).

Meanwhile, I’ve been taking back some shelving to IKEA, which naturally ends in rage and self-reflection.

We then feature a ghost story from Crispin Robinson (if you were a Patreon you'd be able to see a photo of this), followed by a spooky email from Pip Lee about a haunted prison—leading to a chat about whether I should do a live show in a jail. (Yes please, I’d fit right in.) www.patron.com/clintonbaptiste

We’re treated to a clip from a gig in Blyth, North East, featuring comedian Martin Neal 🎤👻.

Then it’s relationship problems galore from Fate and Fortune—brace yourselves, lovers.

Next up, a fantastic interview with comedian and actress Jo Enright, known for Phoenix Nights and Two Up Two Down, where she tells us a chilling tale involving glass flying around during a Ouija board session. Don’t try this at home.

Finally, we’ve got a Fate and Fortune tale about a psychic dog who can judge your new partner before you can—and we wrap up with the age-old debate: bath or shower?

Linda’s got a juicy update on the brothel-slash-restaurant saga 🕵️‍♀️🍽️, and I’ve just returned from a Brazilian BBQ where the only spirit I encountered was rum and regret.

We’ve got a terrifying tale from Phil Cooke – and we even chat to the man himself on Zoom. Then it's on to Take a Break problems, starting with someone who's just too passionate (it's a burden I know well).

We dive into Mandy’s two-part Ouija board story, which is topped off with a dog-related spiritual dilemma 🐕🔮.

Then we hear a chilling MP3 from Raymond Mora about Belinda and the haunted Old Rectory 🪦, and from Fate & Fortune, a story of a woman remembering her own birth. I then share my earliest memory (brace yourself), which ends in an unexpected Arthur Askey reference… as it should.

Finally, comedian Josh Kenny sends in his spooky experience involving a haunted dreamcatcher, and we round off with some idle chat about what we’re having for tea.

Linda kicks things off with talk of the Netflix film Nonnas, a heart-warming tale about older Italian women cooking their secret family recipes in a trendy New York eatery. Clinton, meanwhile, dreams of a Gregg's steak bake.

📬 Then it’s an email from Dave Ives asking that age-old question — is Barry saying "nice sausages" or **"smelly sausages"? You decide.

📩 And another message from our friend Pip Lee… he’s back again!

👻 Then we return to the brilliant Dave Granville, who shares another eerie tale — and it’s immediately confirmed in spectacular fashion.

🍫 After that, it’s Gary Westerby on Zoom with a spine-tingling story about a haunted chocolate bar. Yes, really.

🐴 We hear a beautiful story about healing with horses after a grim accident... and a final tale of psychic pet rescue — courtesy of Take a Break’s Fate & Fortune.

🎤 And finally, a cracking interview with the one and only Jamie Hutchinson.

Episode 16: Haunted Helpers & the Grumpy Van Man Survey

    Welcome, my spiritual sweethearts! 👻

We kick off this week with Linda venting about her latest run-in with a nasty white van man — honestly, the spiritual energy in some of these tradesmen is diabolical. That leads us neatly into a completely unscientific but 100% accurate survey of the UK’s most miserable workers. (Van men, you’re high on the list. Sort it out.)

Then we dive into the mystical pages of Take A Break Fate & Fortune, exploring stories of people with a sixth sense — that uncanny spidey-tingle that tells you something spooky’s afoot.

From the same mag, we hear an incredible tale of a ghost saving a woman from alcoholism. A true spirit intervention! 🍷✨

But the big one this week is a powerful, emotional story from Dave Granville — a listener who sent in a letter so packed with spiritual twists, family secrets and chills, we just had to talk to him on Zoom.

And as if the spirits weren’t done, we then hear from Kelly Rickard, who contacted us to say she’d experienced the very same haunting Dave described only last week. The spirit world is clearly on a group chat.

Then it’s time for a bit of problem solving — everything from ghostly nuisances to relationship confusion. You send them in, we dig through the ectoplasm for answers.

And to top it all off, Barry from Watford pops in to promote his latest Buckle Up with Barry episode — featuring none other than Matt Lucas. Find it on TalkSport or wherever you get your podcasts, and do give it a listen… if only to hear Barry go wildly off-topic, as usual.

    Hello, my spectral sweethearts! 👻

We open this week with Linda reliving a recent accident (don’t worry, she’s still upright) before launching into her latest travel saga — involving a very questionable restaurant/hotel combo she’s managed to book. You’ll want to bring your own cutlery... and maybe a priest.

It jogged a memory for me about my dear old parents — who once stayed in what turned out to be a full-blown brothel. Can I prove it? No. Do I need to? Absolutely not. The red lighting and mirrored ceilings said it all.

Then from Take A Break Fate & Fortune, we read a tale involving a vanishing… something. Possibly an Innuit? Possibly just an ice ghost. Either way, it’s a chilling one. That’s followed by a spooky sleepover tale that had me double-checking my cupboard doors.

Next, an email from Livvy May, who had a brush with the spirit world via an Ouija board (classic mistake). We get her on Zoom to hear the full ghostly download firsthand.

Then it’s time to solve more of your problems, spiritual and otherwise — some of them very human, some of them worryingly spectral.

We also hear from Stuart Harle in Blyth, who has a spooky story of his own, and then Barry from Watford pops up to promote the latest episode of his TalkSport podcast, Buckle Up with Barry, this time featuring Matt Berry. That’s right — actual Matt Berry, not a paranormal impersonator.

Then, it’s goodbyes all round and a track to see us out from Glowe, courtesy of Sundown Studios.

    With thanks to:

Welcome back, my loves – another week, another batch of spirits, stories, and deeply questionable fashion choices.

We kick off with Linda talking about her clothes (as usual), and I admit that my everyday wardrobe is a far cry from my stagewear. Let’s just say the spiritual energy doesn’t extend to my laundry basket.

Then we’re back to Betty Boo again. I think Linda’s angling to become her tour psychic.

Spooky tales roll in fast this week:

👻 First, a chilling nursing experience from Anne Bristoe

👻 Then a ghostly moment from Dallas Weeks

👻 And a story from Chris Cairns

Plus, we get an email from Sid Jaffa – yes, that is the name provided. Whether it’s real or not, the vibes were strong.

From Fate & Fortune, we share a story about a ghost child who goes on holiday with a family. Free travel? Not bad for the undead.

Then we hear from Ari Young with a cracking ghost story of their own, followed by an email from someone in Nottingham – I’ve bleeped the name, just to be safe. They know what they did.

We’re back again with Chris Cairns for a second spooky helping, and then a return from the fabulous Sandrea Mosses for another instalment of A Day in the Afterlife. You’ll want to take notes — it’s very detailed up there.

Finally, a quick word from Barry from Watford, promoting Buckle Up with Barry, his new podcast on TalkSport. If you’ve not heard it yet, give it a search on your favourite podcast app or find it directly on TalkSport. There’s plenty of Barry nonsense to go round.

Linda’s had a promotion! Yes, she’s now in charge of… stationery. Or something. She's really climbing the ranks of spiritual admin — big time now.

Then we hear from Heath McStay, who drops us a message from the beyond (well, the inbox), before heading into the hills of Wales for a recording with Dave Granville — topped off with a spooky little addendum you’ll want to hear.

From there, it’s time for some Bitesize Shivers – first, about a therapist, and then about dreams that predict the future. Eerie stuff, and just vague enough to apply to everyone.

We chat about therapy in general. Have you ever had any? I tried once… but the spirits kept interrupting.

Then we dive into the unsettling sensation of bad vibes — you know when you walk into a room and your soul wants to moonwalk straight back out again? That.

Next, we hear from the marvellous Dilly Campbell, who’s got a spooky story of her own to share.

Then it’s back to the oracle: Take a Break Fate & Fortune gives us a proper spiritual conundrum to solve. We do our best. (No guarantees.)

And for something a bit different — a ghostly tale from none other than Fortean Times, all about Hiroshima. Powerful stuff.

We round off, as ever, with Barry from Watford, promoting the latest episode of his talkSPORT podcast Buckle Up with Barry. Spirits willing, he’ll stay on topic this time…
