About this listen
Clark Griswold from the “Christmas Vacation” movie would be jealous of the Christmas lights in Arlington.
Because today’s guest has led the nationally ranked Interlochen Christmas Lights Display in Arlington for the past 15 years, many people call Ralph Sobel “Mr. Christmas.”
He leads the fabulous Christmas tour, which was rated #8 in the nation by PEOPLE MAGAZINE. Check out the details:
· 50th year of this glorious event
· Tour of 200 homes lighted for the Christmas season
· 2-mile trail
· 7 of the original families from 50 years ago still participate in the tradition
· No two homes’ decorations are the same
Check out the “Griswold House” that is as over the top as the “Christmas Vacation” movie, and realize that two of that homeowner’s neighbors are equally competitive to win “The Griswold Award.
Some neighbors were so over-the-top that their next-door neighbor created a sign that read “Ditto,” with an arrow pointing to the lavishly decorated house.
Welcome to 15 on Fridays with Fletch. We trust you’ll join in the festive Christmas season even though our temperatures are in the 70s!
