Cinematographer Pithai Smithsuth is on an incredible path. As a child he visited David Fincher's set for Panic Room, and was blown away by the problem solving exhibited by the crew.

He started filming skate videos for his friends, and his skills continued to grow.

Then he went into a completely different field, first into music, then commiting to and graduating from aviation school.

But he never forgot the wonder he experienced on Fincher's set. He began line producing in Thailand and one day the cinematographer was held up on a flight and he was given his big break, which led to a Vimeo Staff Pick. Pretty soon, Nike came calling and he filmed multiple pieces for them in Thailand.

Then he began and incredible run including Da Five Bloods with Spike Lee, Killers of the Flower Moon with Martin Scorsese and Rodrigo Prieto, and the Creator with Greig Fraser, Oren Soffer, and Gareth Edwards.

If you're familiar with the film industry, you know that it is common for a job to appear the moment you purchase a plane ticket out of town. This is exactly what happened to Pithai when he and his family set out to return to the United States. This time, the call was for White Lotus Season 3, and Pithai would be working alongside a DP he long admired; Ben Kutchins.
