About this listen
William is a former 9-year Team USA Bobsledder whose life was upended by the very real, often-misunderstood symptoms of Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE), an issue tragically familiar to both athletes and military veterans. What makes CTE especially cruel is that it’s only diagnosed after death, but while alive, sufferers lose their quality of life and sense of self. William went through debilitating confusion, depression, even losing his way in his own neighborhood.Turning point came when he tried Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT), something he discovered after everything else failed. Almost immediately, his symptoms eased. Now, William is on an urgent mission: to open a nonprofit CTE Recovery Center using HBOT and other therapies, completely free for athletes and veterans who desperately need interventions but can’t afford them. He’s asking the public to help through his GoFundMe campaign (https://gofund.me/93ff9c6e).
