Im Mai dieses Jahres kündigte die Europäische Kommission ein Förderprogramm für amerikanische Wissenschaftlerinnen und Forscher an. Europa versucht, den Brain Drain umzudrehen und Forschende aus den USA abzuwerben. Die restriktive Wissenschaftspolitik von Präsident Trump macht das möglich. 500 Millionen Euro möchte die Europäische Kommission für diesen Zweck zusätzlich locker machen. Wie attraktiv ist der Forschungskontinent Europa für amerikanische Wissenschaftler*innen? Oder das Forschungsland Österreich? Bezahlt wird in den USA jedenfalls besser.
