After activating the mysterious device, Eli is pulled into a strange digital space—an artificial mental environment where he encounters the consciousness of the man who used his body. The man explains that the body-rental system isn’t what it seems. Beyond simple rentals, there are powerful individuals—“owners”—who have learned how to permanently take control of other bodies, abandoning their own to escape death. Eli realizes the murder he witnessed wasn’t random—it was intentional, part of something bigger. The man hints that Eli is different from other hosts, able to remain aware during possession, which makes him valuable. Before the connection ends, Eli is warned: if he doesn’t learn how to protect his mind, someone will take his body permanently.
