Et puis, bien sûr, Nell, la corneille qui suivait Arvine partout où elle allait. Leurs différences faisaient leur force. Iels avaient grandis ensemble, dans la vallée, le plus souvent au village, parfois ailleurs mais jamais pour longtemps. Toujours iels revenaient et se retrouvaient pour jouer entre les chalets, sur les pentes où s’accrochaient les mélèzes, entre les cailloux du torrent, sous l’œil rieur des chocards qui criaient haut dans le ciel leur liberté chérie.
