अध्याय ८ को शायद रोमियों की पुस्तक के सबसे महत्वपूर्ण अध्याय के रूप में वर्णित किया जा सकता है। इस अध्याय में मौजूद कई विषयों के माध्यम से, पौलुस हमें प्रकट करता है कि परमेश्वर की धार्मिकता का कार्य कितना अद्भुत है।
पहला विश्वे है: “अत: अब जो मसीह यीशु में है, उन पर दण्ड की आज्ञा नहीं” (रोमियों ८:१)। इसका मतलब है की चाहे हम अपनी देह में कितने भी अश्लील और तुच्छ क्यों न हो, परमेश्वर की धार्मिकता ने हमें हमारे सारे पापों से स्वतंत्र किया है।
