Pasal 8 mungkin bisa disebut sebagai pasal yang paling penting di dalam surat Roma. Meskipun beberapa tema muncul di dalam pasal ini, Paulus menunjukkan kepada kita betapa luar biasanya pekerjaan kebenaran Allah.
Tema yang pertama adalah: “Demikianlah sekarang tidak ada penghukuman bagi mereka yang ada di dalam Kristus Yesus” (Roma 8:1). Ini berarti bahwa bagaimanapun kasar dan rusaknya daging kita, kebenaran Allah sudah memerdekakan kita dari segala dosa kita.
