Se penchant sur le fait qu’avant sa Rédemption, sa chair était condamnée à mort par la Loi de Dieu, l’Apôtre Paul fit la profession de foi qu’il était, en croyant à Jésus-Christ, mort au péché. Avant d’avoir rencontré la Justice de Dieu, c’est-à-dire avant d’être nés de nouveau, ceux d’entre nous qui croyaient en Jésus-Christ vivaient sous la domination et la malédiction de la Loi. Ainsi, la Loi aurait eu emprise sur nous si nous n’avions pas été libérés de nos péchés par la rencontre de Jésus-Christ, qui nous a amené la Justice de Dieu.
