Ma-thi-ơ đoạn 5 câu 1-7 là những điều mà Chúa Jêsus nói với các môn đệ của Ngài và chúng ta. Cơ-đốc-nhân gọi sự dạy dỗ này là “bài giảng trên núi” vì Chúa Jêsus nói những điều này khi Ngài ở trên núi.
Trước tiên, chúng ta đọc trong Kinh thánh Ma-thi-ơ đoạn 5 câu 3, Chúa Jêsus đã nói: “Phước cho những kẻ có lòng khó khăn, vì nước Thiên đàng thuộc về những kẻ ấy”. Ý của Chúa Jêsus khi Ngài nói “phước cho những kẻ nghèo khó” là Ngài chỉ ban Thiên đàng cho những kẻ có lòng nghèo khó tâm linh.
