Вірш 12: «А до Ангола Церкви в Пергамі напиши: Оце каже Той, що має меча обосічного».
Пергам був адміністративною столицею Малої Азії, чиї мешканці поклонялися багатьом язичницьким богам. Зокрема, це був центр поклоніння імператору. Слова «Той, що має меча обосічного» означають, що Господь бореться з Божими ворогами.
