創世記2:16-17說:“耶和華神吩咐他說:園中各樣樹上的果子，你們可以隨意吃，只是分別善惡樹上的果子，你們不可吃，因爲你們吃的日子必定死!”
神明確告訴亞當和夏娃不要吃知善惡樹上的果子。但所有獸中最狡猾的蛇問夏娃:“神豈是真說不許你們吃園中所有樹上的果子嗎？”女人然後對蛇說:“園中樹上的果子，我們可以吃，惟有園當中那棵樹上的果子，神曾說:‘你們不可吃，也不可摸，免得你們死。’”
如果我們在這裏仔細地檢查夏娃的回答，我們可以看出當她說“免得你們死”，她對神的道的信仰已經動搖和混亂。即使現在，撒旦的試探仍經常光顧我們水和聖靈福音的信徒。魔鬼總是以他的詭計和罪惡的計謀挑戰神。但我們仍能戰勝撒旦的試探，這種勝利不是靠其他任何東西，而是靠我們對水和聖靈福音的信仰。每個人都能靠信仰水和聖靈的福音領受罪孽得赦，他還能獲得永生，跟隨主，獲得神的賜福。
