說到信仰生活，任何人都強調他自己的工作已經被撒旦的陰謀所愚弄。現在凡是鼓吹人必須靠自我悔改才能達到聖化的人都已經被魔鬼的陰謀愚弄了。魔鬼的策略就是鼓勵人們行善，致力發展自己的工作而不是信仰神的道。然而儘管如此，許多基督徒仍然聲稱只要信仰耶穌，過合乎道德的生活，同時忠誠地侍奉神，他就能獲得永生。但那些這般強調人類自己工作的人不能從罪孽中得救，而相反，他們將陷入更加深厚的罪孽裏。
所以，指導人類行爲的律法主義信仰是一種有缺陷的信仰。律法主義的信徒決不能成爲義人。人靠自己的行爲決不能得以完全。所以，注重工作的基督徒只能每天哀傷他們的不足。這些人受魔鬼的欺騙，想完善自己的行爲，直到他們死亡的那一天，他們最終只能被抛下地獄。
