说到信仰生活，任何人都强调他自己的工作已经被撒旦的阴谋所愚弄。现在凡是鼓吹人必须靠自我悔改才能达到圣化的人都已经被魔鬼的阴谋愚弄了。魔鬼的策略就是鼓励人们行善，致力发展自己的工作而不是信仰神的道。然而尽管如此，许多基督徒仍然声称只要信仰耶稣，过合乎道德的生活，同时忠诚地侍奉神，他就能获得永生。但那些这般强调人类自己工作的人不能从罪孽中得救，而相反，他们将陷入更加深厚的罪孽里。
所以，指导人类行为的律法主义信仰是一种有缺陷的信仰。律法主义的信徒决不能成为义人。人靠自己的行为决不能得以完全。所以，注重工作的基督徒只能每天哀伤他们的不足。这些人受魔鬼的欺骗，想完善自己的行为，直到他们死亡的那一天，他们最终只能被抛下地狱。
