In 1985, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, 37-year-old Cassandra Rundle and her two children, Melanie Sturm and Detrick Sturm, were brutally murdered in their home. Quickly gaining national attention as the “Lonely Hearts Murders.”

Investigators believed Cassandra may have met someone through personal ads shortly before the killings — a detail that raised disturbing questions about whether she and her children were deliberately targeted.
