Since its founding, the Orchid Giving Circle has distributed hundreds of thousands of dollars in grants to local nonprofits. These grants have supported programs ranging from mental health services and youth mentorship to cultural preservation. The organization operates as part of the Communities Foundation of Texas which helps manage its funds and administration.

She served in the role of VP, Operations and General Counsel for Appspace, Inc., an international enterprise business communication technology company, and General Counsel for SoftLayer Technologies, Inc., which at the time was the largest private hosting company in the world until it was purchased by IBM in 2013 (after her departure from SoftLayer). Suzy is widely recognized for her expertise in XaaS, technology contracts, data privacy, and intellectual property.
