About this listen

The first episode of the Cannabis Tourism Podcast takes place on location in Simio Autocultivo, a cannabis brand and cultivation shop based in San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico.

This episode is bilingual and features Ernesto Medina and Javier Alejando Alcazar Camposeco, the founders of Mesoamericanna - a newly established regional council that exists to elevate cannabis culture and the cannabis industry in the state of Chiapas, Mexico.

We talk about the recently held first cannabis cup that Mesoamericanna organized to bring together cannabis cultivators, entrepreneurs and enthusiasts from throughout Chiapas, about the local perception of cannabis by different factions of the San Cristobal community, ongoing campaigns in partnership with the local government to eradicate cannabis stigma and to encourage responsible use, and what the status quo of legal cannabis is in Mexico at the federal level.
