About this listen
Born on April 29, 1999, in the South Wales valleys communities of Tonyrefail and Porth near Pontypridd, Callum built an extraordinary foundation as a performer long before the world knew his name. From touring with Cameron Mackintosh's production of Oliver and performing in Matthew Bourne's Lord of the Flies to training at the prestigious Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff, his path was shaped by grit, dedication, and unmistakable raw talent.
His breakthrough came with Russell T Davies's critically acclaimed Channel 4 and HBO Max series It's a Sin, where Callum played Colin Morris-Jones in a performance that moved audiences to tears and earned him a BAFTA nomination for Best Supporting Actor, a Royal Television Award, and a BAFTA Cymru Best Actor win. From there, he took on the iconic role of The Emcee in the West End production of Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club, and landed major roles including Holly Johnson in the biographical film Relax, a part in Michael Sheen's BBC One series The Way, and the lead in the biopic Madfabulous.
His story is one of talent, humility, and the power of Welsh representation in mainstream entertainment. Whether you are a longtime fan or just discovering Callum Scott Howells, this show covers it all.
