Einen Tag später als geplant ging am 13. November 2021 die Klimakonferenz in Glasgow mit einer Abschlusserklärung zu Ende. Die Reaktionen auf diese Konferenz sind geteilt. Während Greta Thunberg das Ergebnis mit „blah, blah, blah“ zusammenfasste, sehen andere auch positive Aspekte und Grund für Zuversicht. Christiana Figueres, ehemalige Leiterin der UNO Klimakonvention, gab dazu der Süddeutschen Zeitung ein Interview. Die Mitgründerin der Organisation „Global Optimism“ sieht in erster Linie das halb volle Glas: „ein guter Schritt nach vorne, und jetzt braucht es einen Sprint!“
