And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
In the Garden of Gethsemane, in the final moments before Jesus was arrested to be crucified, He prayed earnestly, saying, “Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine be done” (Luke 22:42). Do you see that? The Lord Jesus did not want to do it; it was a hard thing He had to do, but He did it anyway! Obedience is not about what you like; it’s about what God likes for you.
Our theme verse teaches that Jesus’ exaltation came because He was obedient unto death. Even at the hardest point, He remained obedient. Brothers and sisters, the miracle you want is on the other side of obedience. Choose to obey God.
PROPHETIC DECLARATION
I prophesy a life of obedience to what God has set before me. I humble myself as I let the Spirit of God lead me in all things in Jesus’ Name! Amen.
