Boston is building a new legacy: Boston Legacy FC! The 15th National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) franchise will take the pitch in 2026. Head Coach Filipa Patão is excited for this new adventure here in the States and NWSL. Patão is a former player with many titles to her name before hanging up her cleats to coach. Mostly recently she managed Benfica and led the club to five consecutive league titles. She brings an immense amount of experience and drive with her to help build this new team and identity in Boston. Today we dive in to:
- Why joining the NWSL, and specifically an expansion team in Boston, was so exciting
