May 10, 2026 Recognize Your Reality John 16:33 (NIV) "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." James 1:2-4 (NIV) Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. Matthew 8:2 (NIV) A man with leprosy came and knelt before him and said, "Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean." Matthew 8:5-6 (NIV) When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking for help. "Lord," he said, "my servant lies at home paralyzed, suffering terribly." Matthew 8:16 (NIV) When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick. Matthew 9:2 (NIV) Some men brought to him a paralyzed man, lying on a mat. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the man, "Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven." Matthew 9:18 (NIV) While he was saying this, a synagogue leader came and knelt before him and said, "My daughter has just died. But come and put your hand on her, and she will live." Matthew 9:20 (NIV) Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak. Matthew 9:27 (NIV) As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed him, calling out, "Have mercy on us, Son of David!" Matthew 9:32 (NIV) While they were going out, a man who was demon-possessed and could not talk was brought to Jesus. Matthew 11:28-30 (NIV) "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." John 16:7 (NIV) But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. Practical Steps to KEEP PRESSING FORWARD and get out of it: 1. PRAY Luke 22:42-43 (NIV) "Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done." An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him. Practical Steps to KEEP PRESSING FORWARD and get out of it: 2. GET TO YOUR secret place Practical Steps to KEEP PRESSING FORWARD and get out of it: 3. Practice Vulnerability Mark 2:3-5 (NIV) Some men came, bringing to him a paralyzed man, carried by four of them. Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus by digging through it and then lowered the mat the man was lying on. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, "Son, your sins are forgiven." Proverbs 18:24a (NIV) One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, Romans 12:2 (NIV) Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will. 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NIV) if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Practical Steps to KEEP PRESSING FORWARD and get out of it: 4. Practice Biblical Meditation 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 (NIV) We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. Joshua 1:8 (NIV) Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Psalms 23:1-6 (NIV) The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. ★ Support this podcast ★

    Lost & Found

    Luke 19:10 (NIV)

For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost."

    Matthew 28:19 (NIV)

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

    Luke 15:1-2 (NIV)

Now the tax collectors and sinners were all gathering around to hear Jesus. But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law muttered, "This man welcomes sinners and eats with them."

    Lost like a sheep

Then Jesus told them this parable: "Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn't he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says,
    Luke 15:3-7 (NIV)

    Lost like a sheep

‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.' I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.
    Luke 15:3-7 (NIV)

    Lost like a coin

"Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one. Doesn't she light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? And when she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost coin.'
    Luke 15:8-9 (NIV)

Lost like a prodigal // Choice

Jesus continued: "There was a man who had two sons. The younger one said to his father, ‘Father, give me my share of the estate.' So he divided his property between them. "Not long after that, the younger son got together all he had, set off for a distant country and there squandered his wealth in wild living.
    Luke 15:11-13 (NIV)

Lost like a prodigal // Consequence

After he had spent everything, there was a severe famine in that whole country, and he began to be in need. So he went and hired himself out to a citizen of that country, who sent him to his fields to feed pigs. He longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything.
    Luke 15:14-16 (NIV)

Lost like a prodigal // Conscience

"When he came to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father's hired servants have food to spare, and here I am starving to death! I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired servants.'
    Luke 15:17-19 (NIV)

Lost like a prodigal // Compassion

So he got up and went to his father.
"But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.
"The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.'
"But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet.
    Luke 15:20-22 (NIV)

Lost like a prodigal // Celebration

Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let's have a feast and celebrate. For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.' So they began to celebrate.
    Luke 15:23-24 (NIV)

Covenant Love: Strengthening the Marriage Bond

    Matthew 19:4-6 (NIV)

"Haven't you read," he replied, "that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,' and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh' ? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate."

Every time you believe a lie you empower the liar.

    2 Corinthians 4:7 (KJV)

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

    Lies that weaken marriage:

    Lie #1: I Can Change Him/Her

    Proverbs 18:22 (NIV)

He who finds a wife finds what is good
and receives favor from the Lord.

    Ephesians 4:26 (KJV)

Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:

    Lies that weaken marriage:

Lie #2: A good marriage is always 50/50

    John 15:12-13 (NIV)

My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends.

    Ephesians 5:25 (NIV)

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her

    Ephesians 5:33 (NIV)

However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.

A man that loves you will always bring elevation to your value.

A woman who loves you always increases your respect.

    Lies that weaken marriage:

Lie #3: Marriage is a contract

    Matthew 19:6 (NIV)

So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate."

    Matthew 19:7-8 (NIV)

"Why then," they asked, "did Moses command that a man give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?"
Jesus replied, "Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning.

    1 Corinthians 13:4-8a (NIV)

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

    Lies that weaken marriage:

Lie #4: There is no hope for my marriage

    Matthew 19:26 (NIV)

...with God all things are possible."

    Mark 9:23 (NIV)

..."Everything is possible for one who believes."
