Branislav Oláh sa narodil v Detve v rómskej rodine v roku 1974. Starý otec bol internovaný v pracovných táboroch, s bratmi bol ako partizán účastníkom SNP. Branislav sa angažoval počas Nežnej revolúcie. Od roku 2000 pracuje ako novinár, okrem toho je bloger a spisovateľ. Od roku 2006 pôsobí ako terénny sociálny pracovník.
