    Ft Scott was one of the forts built in 1842 on a no so straight line between Minnesota and Louisiana to help resettle Native Americans. As time passed these forts were essential in protecting settlers along trails heading west and outfitted expeditions, keeping the peace in the expanding US. What Ft Scott and Ft Leavenworth, KS didn’t count on was trying to keep the peace and give sanctuary during the viscous Border War.
